Sea Scout Ship 5750
We offer the traditional Sea Scouting (www.seascout.org)
program at the
Racine Yacht. Youth are trained and encouraged to participate in sailing
activities at the club and are responsible for the
upkeep and maintenance of our fleet. We currently operate four keelboats
in the 26’ range, three day-sailors, and a 26’ IO powerboat. We sustain
the operation through fund raising projects, the repair and sale of
donated equipment and vessels, and through donations. As a part of the Boy
Scouting program, our members provide service to the
community and the Racine Yacht Club.
We currently have 19 youth members and 18 adults. The
adults serve as advisors to the youth and committee members for the
organization. Sea Scout Ship 5750, Racine Yacht Club, Inc. is a charitable
organization with the purpose of youth education, character development,
communication skill training, citizenship, and recreation. Sea Scouts is a
90-year-old program and operates under the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of
America.
In the future Scouting will continue to
- Offer young people responsible fun and adventure
- Instill in young people lifetime values and develop
in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law
- Train young people in citizenship, service, and
leadership
- Serve America's communities and families with its
quality, values-based program.
Sea Scouting is available to young men and women ages
14 through 20 years. Should you or your children have an interest in this
program, feel free to contact Charlie Manning at 262-681-1982
